Please fully read and follow all instructions as the procedures are set-up to keep everyone safe and ensure all have an enjoyable experience while respecting the fact that there are other sessions occurring throughout the day. League leadership has painstakingly analyzed the number of athletes and spectators expected and the flow of the meet to come up with the best possible meet plan in order to fit the meet into one weekend at one location. With this volume of people and number of sessions, traffic flow (crowds) must be managed, leading to our procedures, in particular to gathering in the cafeteria.
Times are approximate – sessions may start later than indicated. They will not start earlier than indicated. There are many variables (for example late arriving volunteers) that go into running each swim and dive session so we can never predict 100% what the timeline will be but the anticipated schedule is what has been communicated.
Spectators/athletes arriving for swimming sessions will not be allowed to go to the pool deck/balcony during the preceding diving session in order to maintain quiet for the divers and prevent swim families from coming very early to stake out balcony seating.
Again, please read and pass along everything to all participants, instructing them to fully read all information prior to coming to the meet. League champs rage is an affliction many spectators (not participants) seem to suffer from in early February – please be patient, plan to wait in the cafeteria, plan for crowds and delays, be flexible. If you come with that attitude, you’re much more likely to have fun and create an environment in which your child can be successful. Motto for the day: YAY! Your swimmer or diver qualified for league champs!

*All swimming or diving parent volunteers and coaches should check in at the appropriate check in table immediately upon arriving, as some jobs begin prior to athletes going on deck.
*Upon entering the building, please gather in the cafeteria located immediately to your left. You will be called to the pool area after the pool area is cleaned and reset from the prior group’s usage. *Athletes should come prepared to swim or dive. There are bathrooms for public use in the hall near the concession stand. Parents ARE NOT ALLOWED in the pool locker rooms under any circumstances. Athletes should be in charge of their own bags, chairs and ALL belongings when entering the pool deck. Parents WILL NOT BE ALLOWED on deck until called upon to volunteer.
*Volunteers will not be allowed onto the deck for volunteering until after swimming or diving warm-ups have begun. Volunteers should not be in the team areas. Volunteers should only be in the area in which they are working.

INFORMATION FOR SWIMMING:
Please note that the following is a description of team jobs. Each group of jobs will have enough people staffed in such a way that each off deck volunteer will be able to go upstairs to observe their child swim their events. Your volunteers may work the whole meet if your team chooses to set up volunteers in such a way due to the short sessions. Or, if you choose to split the jobs, a brief break will be taken during each session for on-deck volunteers to switch. Please note: this will be the only time for them to switch jobs as they will need to get stickers from the first half volunteers to be allowed on deck.
*Teams providing LANE TIMERS will need 3 timers per lane for the entire session.
*Teams providing HEAD TIMERS will need 1 timer for the entire session. We will have one head timer covering lanes 1-4 and one covering 5-8.
*Teams providing LANE MARSHALLS will need 1 person for the entire session. We will have one Marshall covering lanes 1-4 and one covering 5-8.
*Teams providing RUNNERS will need 1 person for the entire session.
*Teams providing SAFETIES will need I person staffed the entire session. Keep in mind that the safeties should be able to constantly walk around the pool deck and stands to ensure a safe environment for all participants and spectators. There is no need for medical training as an EMT will be in the building at all times. We will need 3 safeties on duty at all times.
*Teams covering AWARDS will need 1 person staffed at all times as they will be responsible for doing awards and posting results in the main pool hallway throughout the meet.
*Teams providing MAIN POOL DOOR SECURITY persons will need 1 person to stand outside the main pool doors for the entire session to check that only properly “stickered” personnel are allowed on deck.
*Teams providing FAR DIVE WELL DOOR SECURITY persons will need 1 person for the entire session to sit outside the pool doors to ensure this area of the pool and stands is utilized as an EXIT ONLY.
*Teams providing T-SHIRT SALES or PROGRAM SALES volunteers will need to provide 1 person for the entire session.
*There will not be a ready bench area so all coaches need to ensure they get their kids to the blocks on time.
*Teams are required to send a list of swimming coaches to the league prior to the meet to be utilized for check in purposes. If NO coach is being sent please contact Sandy and Roberta immediately so that arrangements can be made for your athletes to sit with another team. PARENT COACHES ARE NOT PERMITTED.
If you are assigned as a Lane Timer, Head Timer, Runner, or Lane Marshall you will need to locate the “TIMERS’ MTG. AREA” as soon as you check in so that you don’t miss the required pre-session meeting.
